Ragini Nandwani : Indian film and television actress

Ragini (Rageeni) Nandwani is an Indian film and television actress. She became popular after playing the lead role in Zee TV's daily soap Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein (2011–12). She made her Bollywood debut with the crime thriller film Dehraadun Diary (2013) which was based on a real murder case. The film didn't prove to be a commercially successful film although it had a good concept. She is soon going to feature in a Tamil romantic thriller film Thalaivaa opposite popular Tamil actor Vijay. She is now planning to work simultaneously in films as well as television.

Ragini hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She started her television career with small supporting roles in shows like Ye Meri Life Hai & Thodi Khushi Thode Gham. The shows were quite popular but she didn't gain much popularity. She also worked in a Tamil film which was based on a Hindu-Muslim love story and she acted as a Muslim girl.

In 2011, she got her breakthrough show Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein on Zee TV. She played the lead role of ‘Lovely Kaushik’, an unconventional daughter-in-law and earned a good name for herself with the serial. She even won some awards at the Zee Rishtey Awards for her role in the show. Meanwhile, she was approached for a Bollywood film. She auditioned for the film although she was in a contract with the production house of Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein]]. Luckily got selected. Ragini then decided to opt out of the show, after working in the show for one and a half year. She left the show in October, 2012 and was replaced by another actress.

Dehradun Diary which was released on 4 January 2013. Her co-stars in the film were Adhyayan Suman, Ashwini Kalsekar, Rati Agnihotri, Neelima Azeem & Rohit Bakhshi. The film didn't receive good reviews from the critics. Though the story of the film was not related to Dehradun, the film still got a good response in Dehradun, which is also Ragini's hometown. The film also reminded some people of their past as it was based on a true story.

Though the film failed commercially, it helped Ragini in getting many film offers. She is all set to play an important role in the upcoming Tamil flick Thalaivaa opposite Vijay, who is a superstar in the Tamil film industry. Ragini has recently completed her portion for the film. She has a key role in the film, which features Amala Paul in the lead role. She has been offered more South films but she is going slow and not signing films for the sake of it. She also signed a Bollywood film which will be announced soon.
